Smart number of Bu Shou

Mr. Guo didn’t like his name, so last year he went to find a sifu for a name change. But till now he still did not use that new name, because he doubt that the sifu make a mistake.

The problem came from a word “慕” of his name, Mr. Guo feels that this word should belongs to 15 strokes, but the sifu count it as 17 strokes.

Mr. Guo said, he did ask sifu about this matter, but sifu did not explain it clearly, just told him that this is something mysterious… that outsider won’t understand it. Overall, this new name is a good name.

“Honestly, I didn’t have much confident on that fella!” Mr. Guo said. Then he smiles at me and said: “But today got this opportunity, want to ask sifu take a look on my name, whether is good or not?”

He said really easy enough, but from a real Xing Ming Xue perspective, it needs time to calculate, to see a good or bad on a name, is not simply take a look on a name, can so magically immediate judge that name! So I answer him: “To see this name suite you or not, must go through a detail calculation before can get the answer. So even me also can’t immediately answer you.”

“But the word “慕” you mentioned just now, it’s really belongs to 17 strokes from Xing Ming Xue perspective. You treat it as 15 strokes, because you forget one thing, that the Bu Shou of “慕” is not 4 strokes, but 6 strokes. So “慕” should consider 17 strokes. Regarding stroke of Xing Ming Xue, many people also have misunderstanding, so though you are no exception, but it’s fine.”

Mr. Guo smiles awkwardly, and said: “O, that was it, did not think that I’m the one who make mistake!”

Indeed, many person who self learn Xing Ming Xue, lots of time also like Mr. Guo, can’t make clear certain word’s correct strokes, then mistakenly calculate it.

The reason of such misunderstanding is because certain words’ actual strokes were different from what we usually write. To be more detail, is because these words consist of Bu Shou, where strokes of Bu Shou mostly were different with our normal hand write.

部首的灵动数

郭先生不大喜欢自己的名字，所以年前曾去请专家改名。但是他说至今仍未用那个新名字，因为他怀疑那位姓名学家出了错。

问题原来在于该名字中的一个“慕”字，郭先生认为那个字应该属于十五划，但该姓名学家在批章上却将只算为十七划。

郭先生又说，他曾就此事询问过那位姓名学家，但对方却故作神秘，不肯说明，只说当中的奥秘是行外人不会懂的了。总之，那个新名字是好名字便足了。

“说实的，我对那个人实在没有多大的信心！”郭先生带点悻悻然地说。然后随即又笑意盈盈的向我说：“ 但今天可好了，因为正好可以趁着这次机缘，请师傅你给我看看这个名字好不好？”

他说的可真轻松容易得很，但若然以真正的姓名学的角度来说。要看一个名字的好坏，必须花上一些时间去推算，并不是单凭看一看名字，便立刻可以判断那么神通的！所以我回答他：“要看这个名字是否适合你，必须经过详尽的推算才可得出答案。所以，即使是我，也不可能立刻答复你。”

“不过你刚才所说的“慕”字，在姓名学来说， 他的笔划却实属于十七划，而你之所以将它当作十五划，只是因为你忘了一项重点，便是“慕”字的草花头并不是四划，而是属于六划，所以“慕”字该算为十七划才对。但是，对于姓名学 上的笔划，很多人都有所误解，所以虽然你也不例外，但亦无可厚非。”

我说完，郭先生尴尬的笑了一笑，然后说：“哦，原来如此，没想到原来是我自己弄错了才真！”

的确，不少自学姓名学的人，很多时候都会像郭先生那般，弄不清某些字的正确划数，因而令到推算出错。

而导致混淆的原因，是因为那些字的实际笔划有别于我们日常手写的。说的再详细点，是因为那些字当中的某些笔划属于部首类，而部首类的笔划， 很多时候是与手写时的笔划不相同的。

Name on ID Card

Name on the ID card, can be said that able to affect a person long life destiny, it accompany you where ever you go.
Firstly, all the government certified documents must use this official name. Beside, those agencies that we usually encounter…like bank and school, also need your ID card to certify you identity. So good or bad of your name, can really affect your whole life destiny.
Once a customer were interested and wanted to change her name. She asked:”After changing name, I may need to go everywhere to change my personal detail? First is the ID card, then bank passbook and credit card, some more those insurance policy, electricity bill… lots of documents, it’s so troublesome!”
I smiled at her and said:”Don’t worry, even change a new name, it is not necessary to change your personal detail for ID card and other important documents. All you need to do is to use your new name on your name card, and inform your friends, ask them to call you by using your new name from now onwards. By then, the effect of changing name also can be seen.”
Customer a bit doubtful, she asked:” not changing the ID card? Can meh?”
I answered:” Off course can!”
Customer were curious, she said:” But I heard others said, all identification documents must be changed, then only it is effective.”
I answered:”This concept is a bit wrong! After change the name, changing name of ID card were not most important. More important is… to use the new name more frequently. Example like print the new name on your business card, informed your relatives and friends to call you using the new name. Besides, now even email starts allowed users use Chinese name, so you can use the new name in email as well. All these method can help you to achieve unexpected result.”
“Off course, you can change your ID card’s name as well, it may help. But according to previous experience, although those customers change their name but not the ID card, the results were quite satisfied. So you really no need to go through all the trouble.”
In fact, I always suggest those adult customers to use this method. If the person want to change name were a child, then changing name for his ID card won’t be very troublesome, because they do not have much identified or certified documents. But procedures were lots complicated for adults. That’s why last time my father [First generation of Hong Yun Xing Ming Xue] thought of this simple method as alternative, and it seems to have good result also.

身份证上的名字

身份证明文件上的姓名，可以说能影响一个人的终生命运，因为它是如影随形地跟定你一世。
首先，所有政府承认的文件，都必须用上这一个法定的名字，除了政府部门外，一些我们日常接触到的机构，如银行，学校等，亦是必须以身份证明文件来确定个人身份，所以你的姓名好坏可是可以关系到你一生的祸福。
曾有一位客户，有兴趣要来改名，便问道：“改了名字后，我岂不是要到处去更改姓名资料？首先当然是身份证啦，接着就是银行的存折和信用卡，还有什么保险单，电费单。。。一大堆的证明文件，可真是麻烦得很呢！”
我笑着对他说：“无需担心，就算是改了新名字，身份证和其他重要的文件也不是一定要更改的，你只需要在你的名片上用上你的新名字，并且知会你的朋友，此后要用你的新名字来称呼你，那么，改名的效应也一样可以发挥出来。”
客户听后有点犹疑，她说：“不改身份证明文件？这也有用吗？”
我回答道：“当然有用啦！”
客户感到很奇怪，她说：“但我听别人说过，改名以后，所有的身份证明文件也需更改才会灵验的。”
我回答道：“这个观念有点错误！改了新名字之后，更改身份证明文件并不重要，最重要的，反而是要经常使用这个名字。例如将新名字印在商务名片上；同时通知你的亲朋戚友以后改用新的名字来称呼你；另外，现在就连网上的电邮也开始有中文应用者名称了，所以你更可用自己的新名字来做应用者名称。这种种的方法都可以达到意想不到的效果。”
“当然，倘若不怕麻烦，连同身份证也一并更改的话，会令效果略增。但根据以往很多案例的经验，那些改了名字的人虽则没有更改身份证，但效果也颇为理想。所以你实在没有必要一并改掉身份证上的名字。”
事实上，我也常建议成年顾客们采用这些方法。改名者如果是孩童，改换身份证明文件上的名字不算太麻烦，因为他们一般没有太多的证明或登记文件，但如果是成人则手续繁复许多了，因此当年父亲[上代鸿运姓名学掌门人]便想到以这些简单的方式代替，幸好事实证明效果不俗。

My Name and Surname

As a parent, it is very pleased to have a baby newly born. Beside busy taking care of the new born baby, most worried thing for a parent… is how give baby a good name.
Speaking of names, it can’t be separated with the surname. No matter with which surname, coupled with a good name is very important, because it represent a person.
Without considering “The Art of Name”, let say when you meet a new friend or new business partner, you will exchange a name card. Assume someone else name is Gao Zheng Quan [In Chinese, it is similar meaning with “high post in politic”], but your name is Zhu A Gou [In Chinese, it is similar meaning with “dog”], then no matter how high post you are or how honorable you are… After people read your name card, sure they will have a bad impression on you.
Furthermore, sometimes people not only nod to say hello, but may call your name. Imagine when people shouting your name Zhu A Gou in a large crowd, then you can imagine how embarrassing and awkward it is. Even regardless how the name can affect the fate of regarding person, can anyone really willing to use such a name for the whole life?
So in The Art of Name, in addition to the strokes must be appropriate to the mathematical, at least must be elegant, then only can be considered as a good name.

我的名字，父母姓氏

婴儿出生，身为父母当然十分高兴。在忙于照顾婴儿之余，另一件更令他们烦恼的事情，就是替婴儿改个好名字了。
说到名字，与之不能分割的便是姓氏。不论对那个姓氏的人而言，配上一个好的名字都是很重要的，因为它实则是等如一个人的代号。
我们先别说姓名学这个大问题，就说当你认识新的朋友，或是在商务上与别人初结识时，少不免会互相交换一张名片。假设别人的姓名为「高政权」，而你的姓名却是「朱阿狗」时，则无论你的职位有多高，地位有多尊贵也好，别人看了你的名片后，都会对你的印象大打折扣。
况且，有时候别人不单只会向你颔首打招呼，更可能会称呼你的名字。试想若在大庭广众下被人高呼「朱阿狗」的话，相信你也可以想象得到，说有多尴尬便有多尴尬极。即使不论名字对当事人的命运有何影响，试问有谁愿意一生一世挂着一个不雅的代号呢？
所以在「姓名学」方面来说，除了笔画要合乎数理之外，最起码还要是不失文雅的，才算是一个好名字。
